The salary is negotiable and subject to experience starting from £38,000 - £45,000. You will be responsible to lead and manage the children’s home consistent with the approach and ethos of the organisation, delivering outcomes and high-quality care as set out in the home’s statement of purpose. Maintaining Quality Standards for Accredited Status registration and compliance with the statutory provisions and the Home Regulations 2015.
Our client is searching for an experienced Registered Manager or a Deputy Manager with over 3 years of managerial residential experience in a children’s home looking to naturally develop and progress into the role of a Home Manager.
Key Duties:
· Have responsibility for the management of services, including staff management and supervision, care and placement planning, safeguarding, communications, report writing and monitoring quality and compliance.
· To ensure leadership and management of staff including annual appraisal, regular individual supervision and induction and development is available to all staff working in these provisions.
· Ensure full implementation of statutory and organisational policies and procedures including policy revision and to provide feedback on the effectiveness of all policies and procedures.
· Compliance and taking responsibility for all regulatory requirements such as provisions set out in the Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards 2015, Children Act 1989, Data Protection Act 1998, Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 and best practice in caring for all looked after children.
· Maintaining Quality Standards for Accredited Status registration and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
Key Requirements:
- CAR DRIVER – ESSENTIAL. Full clean licence required
- Have a strong understanding of Ofsted regulations
- Experience and understanding of EBD and challenging behaviour
- Proven and effective leadership and management skills
- Sensitive, empathic approach with resilient nature
- Reflective and reflexive practice
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- A passion for supporting vulnerable children and a commitment to ensuring best practice
- Understanding of all the relevant legislation including but not limited to, equal opportunities, anti-discriminatory practice, Children Act, Children’s Home regulations, Ofsted, safeguarding.
- IT Literate
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services or working towards obtaining the qualification.
- 3 years’ experience working with children in the last 5 years and at least 3 years at senior level.
- Supervision and management experience.
